Amid the flow of congratulatory messages, the leading man Asif Ali had a moment of reckoning when he came across a co-artist in a state of distress. The artiste, named Sulekha, was found teary-eyed as her portions in the film got edited out. Upon hearing about this, Asif promised to make up for it in a heartwarming gesture. Asif Ali on artiste’s portions getting deleted in Rekhachithram

Asif Ali spoke about the incident during a press meeting held as part of the success celebration of Rekhachithram.

Recounting the incident, Asif Ali said that he found Sulekha crying when he stepped out of the Rekhachithram show. "I thought that she was moved by the film. But the portions that she had acted in got cut during editing," Asif said.

A video of Asif apologising to Sulekha is also gaining attention on social media.

"Sorry, ... Chechi, you were so good in our scenes together,” Asif admitted that he also got emotional upon seeing her cry.

While pointing out that length could be an issue in some movies, the actor promised her, "We will act together in my next film.” Asif Ali said that it was a good humourous scene with her in Rekhachithram.

Rekhachithram plot and cast

After the terrific Thalavan, Asif Ali plays cop a cop, Vivek, in Rekhachithram. After getting transferred to a rather remote location, Vivek comes across a case of suicide. Only that the man took the extreme step after admitting to a crime he had committed in the past. This sets Vivek down a path of mystery and he needs to get to the bottom of it.

Anaswara Rajan too plays a key role in the film, which is directed by Jofin T Chacko who had earlier helmed the Mammootty-starrer The Priest. Rekhachithram also has a Mammootty connection, much to the delight of the megastar's fans. Jagadish, Manoj K Jayan, Siddique, Indrans and Harisree Ashokan are also part of Rekhachithram.
