Director Prem is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that his maiden pan-India effort KD. The film, which stars Dhruva Sarja in the lead, boasts many big names with respect to the cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty and V. Ravichandran.
Dhruva Sarja, who will next be seen in his trademark action avatar in A.P. Arjun's Martin, has shed close to 18 kilos to fit into the role of a gangster for Prem's KD. The period film, set in the 1960s and 70s, will be a bona fide action entertainer with the Action Prince promising to be at the top of his game.
With the cast already including many big names, the latest reports regarding KD inform us that the team is considering Reeshma Nanaiah to play the female of the film. The reports deem this to be only speculation at the moment but add that Prem and the core team are keen on bringing a Kannada talent on board, with Reeshma fitting the bill.
Many would know that it was Prem who launched Reeshma Nanaiah in his previous film Ek Love Ya. Since then, she has had only one release in the form of Raana but has multiple big releases lined up for the coming months. Her next release will be Preetham Gubbi's romance drama Baanadariyalli which also stars Golden Star Ganesh and Rukmini Vasanth in the lead. She also has Upendra's comeback directorial UI in her kitty and should she land KD as well, it will be three promising high-profile projects to look forward to.

The makers have already unveiled V. Ravichandran and Shilpa Shetty's characters and the two seasoned performers are roped in to play key roles in the film. Shilpa Shetty returns to Kannada cinema after a long hiatus and will play the role of Satyavati in KD. Sanjay Dutt's look remains under wraps.
