Red Notice 2 and 3 are a 'a real possibility', would like to shoot them back-to-back, says director

Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson's action-comedy, Red Noticehas been watched for 148.7 million hours globally since its November 12 debut on Netflix. Owing to the success of the film, one can only wonder if any follow-ups are in the pipeline.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter director Rawson Marshall Thurber said that part 2 and 3 are "a real possibility".

"If we were to make a sequel, the only responsible thing would be to make two and three back-to-back. It’s such a big production, and if you can mount it one time, it will be better for everyone. Including for my mental health," said the filmmaker.

Red Notice follows John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) is on a global search mission to track down "The Bishop," the world's finest art thief (Gal Gadot). He's forced to team up with Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds), and together the trio get stuck in a cat-and-mouse game.

Red Notice has had mixed reviews from critics, with the film getting a 35 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, Aishwarya Vasudevan for OTTPlay in her review, said, "Three gorgeous actors who are amazing at what they do - entertain to the fullest, making every moment worthwhile in Red Notice."

Thurber is known for films like Dodgeball, starring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller. He has also directed the comedy We're The Millers starring Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston. He has previously worked with Johnson in Central Intelligence and Skyscraper. Red Notice marks his third collaboration with the professional wrestler-turned-actor.

Thurber's next is The Division, based on the video game of the same name, for Netflix. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain.
