Premam’s run at the box office
Nivin’s Premam became a trendsetter in 2015. Directed by Alphonse Puthren, who is also known for Gold and Neram Premam broke the previous box office record set by Mohanlal’s Drishyam, becoming the top grossing Malayalam film of its time. Interestingly, the movie was more successful in Tamil Nadu than in Kerala. In fact, Premam became the first Malayalam movie to run for 250 days in Chennai.

However, with the SRK-starrer now receiving a lukewarm response in the state, it is likely that RDX will regain those screens.
