Ravi Teja's Ravanasura: Starts on a decent note, day one collection are here. Weekend occupancy will be a key
Ravanasura
Ravi Teja is high on the success of his last two films Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya with Chiranjeevi. Not getting carried away with the commercial success, he attempted the thriller Ravanasura which has been directed by Sudheer Varma of Swami Ra Ra fame. Ravi Teja plays a lawyer in this film which had a worldwide release yesterday. The special aspect is that Ravi Teja himself produced this film.
Ravanasura opened to mixed reviews yesterday but this did not show on the collections. The crime thriller made a 4.9 crore share on day one of its release, and the gross figure is nine crores. This is a little less than his previous film, Dhamaka which made 11 crores gross on day one. Dhamaka was a full-on mass commercial drama whereas Ravansura is a serious film.

Nani's Dasara is still super strong at the box office and Ravanasura surely has competition. It needs to be consistent over the weekend to be in a safe zone. The pre-release business has been locked at 21 crores and by the looks of it, the film will surely find it hard to stamp its authority at the box office. We need to see if the makers indulge in the post-release promotions or not.
Ravanasura showcased Ravi Teja in a negative role. This is the first time he has done such a role and was appreciated a lot for his intense performance. Five heroines, Faria Abdullah, Daksha Nagarkar, Megha Akash, and Anu Emanuel played key roles in this film. When compared to Dhamaka, Ravanasura has lesser entertainment and we need to see how the film performs in the next few days.
