Raththam trailer: Vijay Antony headlines this crime drama which touches upon the political-criminal nexus

The makers of Raththam announced a few days ago that the film will hit the screens on September 28. Vijay Antony plays the lead in the movie directed by CS Amudhan. Billed as a crime drama, it revolves around the infamous political-criminal nexus that controls the lives of the average human being in society.

Mahima Nambiar, Nandita Swetha, Ramya Nambeesan and Uday Mahesh among others essay pivotal characters in the project produced by Infiniti Film Ventures. It marks Vijay's fourth film of the year after Tamilarasan, Pichaikkaran 2 and Kolai, and is the fourth directorial venture of Amudhan after the Thamizh Padam franchise.

Makers claim Raththam to be a unique crime drama

The makers have unveiled its trailer now. The movie deals with a series of murder that creates havoc in Chennai. The brutal murders lead to the resignation of four state ministers and put the government in a fix. How the connection between the media, the lawmakers and the judiciary affects the people forms the rest of the story.

In a Twitter chat session, director Amudhan revealed today the film will be a unique crime drama that offers a different approach in terms of investigating crime and performances.

Technical crew

Dhilip Subbarayan has helmed action portions of the film which has editing by TS Suresh and cinematography by Gopi Amarnath. Kannan Narayanan has composed music for Raththam which has art direction by Senthil Raghavan.

Kamal Bohra, G Dhananjayan, Pradeep B and Pankaj Bohra have bankrolled the project which will be released in Telugu under the title Doshi. The film will have a simultaneous release in the two languages and will take on five other movies at the Tamil box office.
