Filmmaker Hari has kick-started promotions for his next directorial venture, Rathnam, with only 20 days remaining before its wide release in theatres . The director revealed that he has undertaken a massive promotional effort for the movie to capture the imagination of audiences.

"You need to inform people and give them confidence that this is a good film, only then they will come to theatres," Hari told reporters in Chennai, emphasizing the importance of film promotions in the current market.

The box office business in Tamil Nadu has hit a rough patch since the beginning of the new year, and Rathnam is one of the upcoming movies expected to revive the business in cinemas.

Hari is confident about the film's potential to strike a chord with the masses. He promised a quintessential Hari action drama addressing pressing social and political issues in a loud and colourful manner.

Hari promises high-octane action

"Today, 60 percent of us are bad people, and we need to save the remaining 40 percent of good people from the evil 60 percent. And that's possible only from the police department or a common man like Rathnam. We cannot go and hit the bad guys, but the one who does it is a hero. The man who is ready to face consequences for fighting the good fight is the hero. That can only happen in the movies," he added.

"I wanted to deliver a good action film along the lines of Saamy and Singam. And I believe I have achieved that in this film," he added.

Rathnam stars Vishal in the role of the angry young man revolting against the atrocities in society on behalf of helpless men and women. The film is due in cinemas on April 26.
