Aditya Roy Kapur has had a lot of eyes locked on him recently, as the actor gets ready for the release of his upcoming action thriller, Rashtra Kavach Om. This is the first time the actor will be seen in an action role. The actor has now opened up about his love for action movies, stating that he was a fan of the genre growing up.

“The genre has everything to consume me. I was an action film fan while growing up. I wanted to do action in real life, and that’s so problematic. It took me a while to arrive at the genre, and now, I’ll definitely do more of it,” Kapur said as reported by Mid-Day.

The actor also talked about the movie, saying that it has a lot of heart for an action movie and that it is about a family’s trials and tribulations, so he does not feel like he has departed from emotions into an all out action movie.

One of the things that has gotten a lot of attention towards the movie, was the actor’s visible physical makeover to play the action hero. Talking about the same, he added that it was more than just going to the gym and that he had to learn to do action and that it is this type of “grueling work” that he signed up for.

Directed by Kapil Verma, the movie will follow a Special Forces soldier who loses his memories after a mission, and has to follow a trial to reveal answers about himself. The trailer, which was released by the makers earlier this month, hints at an action movie that will have family as a subplot.

Produced by Zee Studios and A Paper Doll Entertainment, the action thriller will hit theatres on July 1.
