Taapsee Pannu certainly has a huge fan following in the country being the prolific actress that she is, and it seems that even her co-stars aren’t resistant to her charm. Her Rashmi Rocket co-star and fellow actor Priyanshu Painyuli has nothing but good things to say about the star, lauding her commitment to her craft as well as her amiable personality.

According to Pinkvilla, Painyuli is elated to feature alongside Pannu in the upcoming film, being a long time admirer of her work on the silver screen. Relating how they had become fast friends on the sets, he says that as a person, he found Pannu to be authentic and easy to connect with, reminiscing about the fun they had shooting together and horsing around.

He also revealed that he and Pannu trained separately for their roles, as the latter’s role required a very different kind of preparation. To add more muscle to better portray his role as an Army officer, he had to do weight training, while Pannu had to do ‘hardcore’ training at the running tracks.

Talking about the lessons he’ll take with him from the sets, Painyuli says that working with Pannu has taught him hard work, commitment and discipline.

Directed by Akarsh Khurana, Rashmi Rocket will focus on the difficulties and challenges that female athletes have to endure due to gender testing in sports. Khurana had earlier told PTI that the film will be a dramatised version of the struggles, both national and international female athletes had to endure because of the practice. The film stars Taapsee Pannu, Priyanshu Painyuli and Abhishek Banerjee.

Rashmi Rocket can be streamed on ZEE5 from October 15, 2021.
