Five years ago, on this date, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted the Balakot airstrikes in Pakistan as a response to the February 14 Pulwama attack. Today marks the fifth anniversary of the highly successful airstrikes, which were code-named 'Operation Bandar'. In the early hours of February 26, 2019, the Indian Air Force executed these airstrikes, marking the first such operation since the India-Pakistan war of 1971.
