Rani Mukerji is celebrating her 44th birthday today. On the occasion, the seasoned star opened up about her upcoming film, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, calling it a story that she is ‘emotionally invested in’.
In a statement, the actress talked about how her upcoming film told an ‘incredible story’, centred around human resilience which she is sure will appeal to audiences in the country irrespective of their age group. Calling the film one that is ‘close to her heart’, Mukerji talked about how she was able to connect with the film emotionally, both as an actor and a mother.
She said that she hoped she would receive more ‘brilliant’ scripts such as this in her career, stories that are both entertaining and also contain an important message. “I want to do movies that are about hope and love,” she added, while also mentioning that she wanted to be part of films that tell important stories about women of the country.
The actress also opened up about her journey as an actress, saying that she is fortunate enough to work with some of the best filmmakers and actors in the industry. She credited them with helping her put up excellent performances on screen and said she wanted to continue ‘pushing boundaries’ with her future projects. Recalling that there were times when she ‘missed the mark’ with her films, she said that they only helped her grow.
Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, which was announced last year on Mukerji’s birthday, is directed by Ashima Chibber and produced by Emmay Entertainment. The film is slated to release on May 20 this year.
