Life is the same for everyone, our roles just change from time to time, the late lyricist says in the latest single from director Krishna Vamsi’s next
Rangamarthanda, marking director Krishna Vamsi’s comeback post his cop drama Nakshatram, is gearing up for release. The Telugu remake of the Marathi hit Nata Samrat, the drama pays an ode to theatre actors and makes an attempt to understand changing nature of relationships over time. Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna and Brahmanandam play the lead roles in the film.
Produced by Kalipu Madhu and S Venkat Reddy under Raja Shyamala Entertainments, the film has wrapped its post-production formalities, with the release date expected to be out shortly. A new single from the drama, which has music by Ilaiyaraaja, Puvvai Virise Pranam, sung by the composer himself, was launched today. Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry wrote the lyrics for the song.
Puvvai Virise Pranam, interspersed with visuals where the titular character played by Prakash Raj is seen having a joyous time with his granddaughter, is a beautiful effort to capture the oneness of human existence. Keeping generational differences aside, Sirivennela says childhood and old-age are two sides of the same coin, different roles in a drama called ‘life’ controlled by the almighty.
The song comes from someone who’s very optimistic, wise, experienced several highs and lows and is in the evening of his life, viewing every day as a new opportunity. Given the mood and the philosophy behind Puvvai Virise, it was imperative that it had to be sung by someone who’s both a veteran and could express vulnerability at the same time - Ilaiyaraaja fits the bill perfectly here.
Rahul Sipligunj, Shivathmika Rajashekar, Ali Reza, Aadarsh Balakrishna and Anasuya Bharadwaj essay other important roles in the drama. Nenoka Natudni, a shayari rendered by Chiranjeevi, and Nannu Nannugaa, sung by Gayatri of the Ranjani-Gayatri duo, are among other songs launched from the film. Raj K Nalli is the cinematographer while Silly Monks has acquired the music rights.
