Earlier, Animal was slated to hit the theatres on August 11.
Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna, has gotten a lot of buzz since the release of its pre-teaser. It is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of the year. The anticipation for the movie has been building ever since it was first announced.
But now, there's a sad update about the film and it is that the release date for Animal has been delayed. So now, you will now have to wait longer to see Ranbir in a new, savage avatar. Originally, it was scheduled to open in theatres on August 11 alongside Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 and Oh My God 2, which star Akshay Kumar.
If reports close to the entertainment website Bollywood Hungama are to be believed, the movie's release date has been moved up to December due to some VFX enhancements. The source told the portal, “Animal is among the most ambitious films produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani, and they are standing by the director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, as he needs more time to give a world-class product. Sandeep is a perfectionist and wants to release an uncompromised product on the VFX front."
"The teams were working day and night to complete the film, but the action scenes are so grand that it is not possible to have their best version ready for August 11. After seeing the vision for Sandeep, and the output that would have been ready by August 11, the producers along with Ranbir Kapoor took a collective call to delay the film to December,” the source further added.
However, the delay would cause the movie to compete with Tiger 3, an additional upcoming film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The production team thinks that starting on December 1 will offer the movie a 3-week window because no other movie would want to release in the midst of the Tiger 3, Animal, and Dunki releases. They set a well-planned release date, and a 4-month delay will give the producers adequate time to finish the VFX work.
