Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt pregnancy: When Rishi Kapoor talked about what kind of parent his son will be

The couple tied the knot on April 14 this year

The Bhatt and Kapoor khandaan are on cloud nine. The Bollywood families are elated at the news of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s pregnancy. The couple, who tied the knot in April this year, announced that they are expecting their first child today on social media, which has left the film fraternity and fans excited.

As soon as the pregnancy news was announced, an old interview of late actor and Ranbir Kapoor’s father, Rishi Kapoor surfaced online. In a flashback interview on Anupam Kher's programme, Rishi Kapoor had discussed his bond with his son, Ranbir Kapoor and what kind of parent he thinks Ranbir will be.

The late actor said that his father, Raj Kapoor, was not there during his childhood since he was too preoccupied with his career. Previously, he spent all of his time with his mother. As a result, he resolved to fill all of the gaps in his children's life that his father had created for him.

Rishi opted to devote the majority of his time to his children, Ranbir and Riddhima Kapoor Sahani. He made a point of not shooting on Sundays in order to devote that day to his children.

The actor continued on the show, "I know what I missed out with my father, so I made sure to fill in those gaps, likewise I am sure Ranbir will do something with his kid, what he missed out with me. I think I have inculcated a sense of tradition and culture in that boy."

While discussing his connection with his son further, he stated that he always wanted to be regarded as a parent and never wanted to be a friend to him.

Rishi passed away in Mumbai in 2020 at the age of 67 after a long battle with leukaemia.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announced their pregnancy on Instagram today. She captioned the post "our baby.....coming soon" with a heart. The internet went insane after the couple's announcement and has been making news everywhere.

Meanwhile, Ranbir is awaiting the release of his forthcoming flick Shamshera on July 22. Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt will also appear in the flick. He is also anticipating the release of Ayaan Mukherji's flick Brahmāstra on September 9. He also has Animal with Rashmika Mandanna in the pipeline.
