Ranbir Kapoor and a glimpse from Kapoor's Christmas lunch

Christmas this year started on a merry note for Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt fans as the world got the first official glimpses of Raha as the couple brought her in front of the cameras before the Kapoor Lunch for the first time. What followed was the Kapoor Christmas lunch, a yearly tradition for the family. But looks like what was fun for the family and netizens who also saw glimpses of it, was not the same for someone who chose to file a complaint against Ranbir Kapoor and family, referring to a specific video that has gone viral.

In a pool of videos that have gone viral on the internet from the Kapoor Christmas lunch, one is that of Ranbir Kapoor sitting right beside a cake while someone pours liquor on it. Ranbir later takes a lighter and puts the cake on fire. Now, this video has brought trouble for the Animal star as a man named Sanjay Tiwari has filed a police complaint against him and the family at the Ghatkopar police station.

As per Hindustan Times, the complaint filed by Tiwari reads, “deliberately invoking Hindu Gods and Goddesses by sprinkling intoxicating liquor on the cake and offering it to fire while celebrating any other religious festival with the intention of insulting the Sanatan Dharma there.” However, no FIR has been registered in this case yet. Sanjay Tiwari has asked the police to book Ranbir under sections 295(A), 298, 500, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Sanjay Tiwari filed the complaint at Ghatkopar police station in Mumbai through his lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra. He has claimed that Ranbir Kapoor, while setting the cake on fire, is saying “Jai Mata Di.” According to his complaint, before invoking other deities, it is the fire God who is invoked first in the Hindu religion. He accuses the Kapoors of deliberately using intoxicants while they celebrated a festival of another religion and said the Hindu chant.
