Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra is all set to release in theatres soon. The makers have been dropping a few trivia videos as well as multiple promos and songs from the movie.
Director Ayan Mukerji alongside the lead pair of the movie recently interacted with fans through a YouTube live chat, where the trio spoke about the film, an upcoming song Dance Ka Bhoot and answered the questions of the viewers.
A lot of fans have been complaining about the Brahmastra stars for doing less promotion of the movie. Amid the ongoing live chat, Alia replied to the question and said they want to keep it subtle and don't want to 'phailod' it. Ranbir picked on his wife's comment and jokingly spoke that only one thing is 'phailod' right now and pointed towards Alia.
During the live chat, Ranbir jokingly commented on her wife's recent weight gain and laughed about it as well. However, his remark has seemed to hurt the sentiments of many people and the actor has also been called out on the internet. Meanwhile, he has recently broken his silence on the issue and talked about the incident too.
During a recent press conference in Chennai, when the actor was asked to comment about the reactions he is getting for his recent remark on calling Alia 'phailod,' Ranbir replied, "Firstly, let me start with I love my wife with everything I have in my life. What happened on the live chat was I think a joke which didn't turn out to be funny. I really want to apologise if I've triggered anyone. Because It was not my intention. But I'm saying sorry to anyone who has got triggered or offended. I talked to Alia about it and she really laughed it off and she didn't mind it. But I do have a bad sense of humour."
Brahmastra is slated to release on September 9 in theatres.
