Wedding rumors are nothing new for Kannada actress-politico Ramya (Divya Spandana). She’s been there, done that, as far as all the speculation goes and there’s never been any truth to the rumors that did the rounds at the time. Earlier this week, there was a renewed buzz and this time, the claim was that Ramya was engaged and set to wed a Delhi-based entrepreneur on her birthday, November 29. Her close aides pooh-poohed any such development and late last night, Ramya too took to social media to address the same.

Ramya's response to the new wedding rumors

In an Instagram story, Ramya wrote that she’s been “married off so many times” she’s lost count and that if and when she does take the plunge, everyone will hear about it directly from her. She urged fans to stop believing unverified reports. The actress has been maintaining quite a low profile for a while, so much so that even during the release of her debut film production, she was hardly ever seen.

Ramya's return to acting...

Meanwhile, fans are still awaiting news on the actress’ return to the big screen. When she announced her decision to turn producer, with a film directed by Raj B Shetty – Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye – the plan was for Ramya to star in it. However, she later decided against it and the role went to Siri Ravikumar. It was said that Ramya was looking for a bigger film to officially return to acting and shortly after came news that she’d be a part of Rohit Padaki’s gangster tale featuring Dhananjaya, Uttarakaanda. Ramya was at the film’s muhurtha with Dhananjaya and her voice-over was on the initial title teaser.

However, several months later, when the film team was eventually ready to go on floors, it was an Instagram story yet again that Ramya used to let everyone know that she was no longer a part of the project. The team of the film then cast Aishwarya Rajesh in the role, heralding her entry into Sandalwood.
