Ramayana Goes On Floors Next Week?

It's just March, and it already feels like we've heard and seen a lot about the content we're about to witness. One of the biggest films to look forward to is Ramayana: Part One, the adaptation of the mythological epic being made by Nitesh Tiwari on a grand scale. The movie has made news and has been a highlight for many months. While reports had suggested that it was going on floors soon, the latest report today offers the date when Nitesh and the team will begin shooting for the magnum opus. If it is to go by, then shooting begins next week, and Ranbir Kapoor will not be a part of this schedule. Read on to find out everything you should know about this latest update.

Ramayana To Go On Floors On April 2

As per the latest gossip, Nitesh Tiwari will take his Ramayana adapatation on floors on April 2, 2024, which is two days from today. As reported by Pinkvilla, the filmmaker will start shooting on this day and will be starting it with a set erected at Mumbai's Film City. The setup is said to be that of a gurukul and will have green screen effects. This schedule involves the part where Ram, Bharat, and Laxman are still children in the gurukul, so there will be child artists playing them. Actor Shishir Sharma has been cast to play Guru Vasishtha.

However, the identity of the child artists is being kept hidden for now. The film will be part one of a trilogy, and the makers are making sure to do complete justice to the story.

However, a big update is that Ranbir Kapoor will not be a part of this schedule because Lord Ram is still a child in this sequence. But that doesn’t mean the actor is free. Ranbir will be flying to LA next week for the final round of 3D scans for Ramayana. We have heard of him visiting LA often in the past few months for the scans, and this will be the last time. The actor will join the team on sets in mid-April.

Ramayana Updates So Far

The reports that came before this said that the makers will be organising a special pooja on Ram Navami this year, which falls on April 9, 2024. Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Bobby Deol as Kumbhakaran, and Lata Dutta as Kaikeyi. There are also rumours that Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in as King Dashrath. But there are no confirmations on the same yet.

Nitesh Tiwari plans to shoot Ramayana: Part One from April to July and release it on Diwali 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
