Ramayana staring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi has become the talk of the town and turns out the leaked pictures are intensifying the buzz.
One of the most trending movie titles at this moment is "Ramayana," which has Nitesh Tiwari, Ranbir Kapoor, and Sai Pallavi written all over it. The filmmaker who gave Indian cinema a movie that broke all possible box office records (Dangal) and more gems is giving the country and the world one of the most expensive films and a story that is closest to the hearts of Indians. The film, which has been in pre-production for a long while, has been in the reports for as long as one can remember.
Things finally started getting confirmations from sources about the cast and other details in the past couple of months, and the latest news said that the movie will go on floors on April 2, 2024. Confirming the same are the newest set pictures of Lara Dutta dressed as Kaikeyi, and wait, is that Sheeba Chadha? Well, there’s an Arun Govil first look too.
Call this a lack of security or the people present on the sets being too excited about it, but the BTS stills that have been leaked in the very first week of "Ramayana" going on floors are not good news for the makers who certainly want the looks and details to stay under wraps. The latest pictures (via Zoom) that have gone viral now confirm that the pictures that were leaked a day before were actually from the sets of "Ramayana" and not a spoof. Which means we now have multiple pictures from the same sets. The latest ones have Lara Dutta, and Arun Govil can be seen as King Dashrath. What is surprising is that Sheeba Chadha can be seen walking alongside Lara in a costume that resembles that of Manthara.
Lara Dutta, who is reportedly playing Kaikeyi, is wearing a bright red sari with heavy gold jewelry and a veil over her head. There are two stills of her which do give a detailed look at her costume. Sheeba Chadha can be seen wearing a maroon saree with an intricate border. She is also wearing a lot of jewelry that’s in silver. As for Arun Govil, he has a full-grown beard and can be seen wearing a costume that resembles that of King Dashrath from the visuals that we have seen forever.
Meanwhile, the first schedule of the film went on floors on April 2, 2024. Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, and Sai Pallavi, who plays Mata Sita, are not a part of this schedule as the sequence is from Lord Ram’s childhood and is set in the Gurukul. Meanwhile, Ranbir is reportedly flying to LA for the final leg of scans that will be useful in the post-production editing of the film.
"Ramayana" is eyeing a Diwali 2025 release, and Nitesh Tiwari is certainly promising a Magnum Opus like no other.
