Ramayana - Bobby Deol approached to play Kumbhkaran in Nitesh Tiwari's film? Here's the truth

Bobby Deol has been basking in the glory of Animal's success. The actor played the role of an antagonist, Abrar, in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film. Deol locked horns with Ranbir Kapoor in the violent thriller, which was released on December 1, 2023. Following the success of Animal, it was recently reported that the makers of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana approached Bobby for a role in the film. The media report suggested that Bobby was offered the role of Kumbhkaran in Ramayana.

Bobby Deol to play Kumbhkaran in Ramayana?

While it was reported that Bobby Deol was approached for Kumbhkaran's role in Ramayana, the actor's team confirmed to ETimes that the actor is not involved in Nitesh Tiwari's mythological movie. They denied the ongoing speculation, which surfaced online a few hours ago.

Speaking about the Nitesh Tiwari directorial, the film will star Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravan. An official announcement about Ramayana's shoot is yet to be made.

Last month, an X user claimed that Ranbir informed him about his next project, Ramayana, going on floors in the summer of 2024. The netizen met Ranbir at the airport and during the immigration queue, he briefly interacted with him. During this conversation, Kapoor confirmed his upcoming movie is Nitesh Tiwari's film. However, the user didn't mention details about the star cast.

Bobby Deol's upcoming projects

As far as Bobby is concerned, the actor has a South film lined up. In his Instagram post, the actor confirmed that he is working with a filmmaker, whom he fondly calls a 'teddy bear'. Bobby also mentioned that he is working with a great actor and the team of his new film is just awesome.

His upcoming set of projects includes not one but three films down South. The actor has been confirmed to be a part of Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Suriya's Kanguva. Bobby might also do NBK109.
