Popular character artiste, comedian Abhai Naveen, who shot to fame with his appearances in Pelli Choopulu, Disco Raja, Geetha Govindam, Sammohanam, is now wielding the megaphone for a political comedy Ramanna Youth. He also plays the lead role in the film produced by AAR under Firefly Arts. Silly Monks Studios is presenting the film that’s gearing up for a release on September 15.

Vishnu Oi, Anil Geela, Amulya Reddy, Thagubothu Ramesh and Srikanth Iyengar play other key roles in the film. Ahead of its release for the Vinayaka Chaturthi weekend, Siddharth unveiled the trailer yesterday. The glimpse showcased the highs and lows in the journey of an aimless youngster, who works for a politician, and has big dreams of turning a popular leader in his village.

The protagonist and his group of friends come up with one whacky idea after the other to grab the eyeballs of the local politician but end up fighting amongst themselves. He loses track of his career and repents briefly and seeks to bounce back with a bang. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Ramanna Youth promises to be an entertaining, quirky rural comedy with a political touch.

Siddharth, who launched the trailer, claimed that he was a big fan of Abhai as an actor since his short film days and apparently discussed this with Tharun Bhascker as well. Ramanna Youth is a fine blend of emotions, humour based on his life experiences and I urge audiences to watch it in theatres next week, the actor said. Abhai Naveen called it a political entertainer in a village backdrop.

Jagan Yogiraj, Bunny Abiraan, Anji Valguman, Manoj Muthyam, Yadama Raju, Vidyasagar Karampuri, Sai Mahesh, Bhaskar Manyam, Venu Polsani, Vishvendar Reddy, Anand Chakrapani, Dhanalakshmi, Mallesh Balsat form the supporting cast of the film. Abhai Naveen and Bhavani Naveen have jointly written the story. Kamran is the music director and Fahad Abdul Majeed cranked the camera. Rupak Ronaldson, Abhai Naveen are the editors.
