Ramachandra Boss & Co trailer promises a Nivin Pauly heist-comedy that could emerge a suprise winner this Onam

Malayalam star Nivin Pauly's Ramachandra Boss & Co might not have had a lot of pre-release promotions compared to the other Onam releases - King of Kotha and RDX, but its trailer packed enough surprises to get the audience excited for its release on August 25. The trailer, which was unveiled late on Monday, began with the introduction of its protagonist Ramachandra Boss, a crook played by Nivin. How he assembles a group of strangers and decides to rob a wealthy industrialist in Dubai seem to be the crux of the film. The humour in the heist comedy stems from the motley crew being a bunch of rookies.

Though set in the United Arab Emirates, the trailer hints at the film borrowing elements from other popular heist comedies in Malayalam such as Sapthamashree Thaskaraha and Orkkappurathu, in which a bunch of characters look to plan a heist due to their financial situation. This is hinted at in the trailer, where Jaffer Idukki's character says he wants his family to get the money if he dies during the heist.

While the teaser was filled with humorous sequences, the trailer promises the movie will also have some action scenes, which is sure to have the audience cheering for Nivin and team in theatres.

Ramachandra Boss & Co is directed by Haneef Adeni, who is known for his action films like Mikhael and The Great Father. The film stars Nivin Pauly, Jaffer Idukki, Vinay Forrt, Mamitha Baiju, Vijilesh and Aarsha Chandini Baiju in prominent roles.

The movie is produced by Listin Stephen and Pauly Jr. Pictures, with music by Midhun Mukundan, who has worked in movies such as Rorschach. The dance number Yalla Habibi released earlier, features Arabic music and has already become a rage online. Vishnu Thandassery has cranked the camera for Ramachandra Boss & Co, which was mostly shot in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.

Ramachandra Boss & Co release date

The film will hit theatres on August 25 as an Onam release. It will clash with Shane Nigam and Antony Varghese's action entertainer RDX and Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha , which will release on August 24.
