Given that Skanda was released in cinemas on September 28, many expected its OTT release to happen this week.
Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela in Skanda
Director Boyapati Sreenu's latest action movie Skanda was expected to arrive on streaming this week. However, fans of the director and actor Ram Pothineni will have to wait a little longer to watch the movie from the comforts of their home.
According to industry sources, the OTT release of Skanda will not take place as expected on October 27 . The digital premiere of the movie has been delayed by a week. Even though we are waiting for an official confirmation, sources suggest that the movie will become available for streaming on Disney+Hotstsar on November 2.
The reason for the delay in the movie's OTT release is, however, unclear. It has become a norm of sorts down south for all new movies to have their premiere on OTT within four weeks of their exclusive theatrical runs.

Given that Skanda was released in cinemas on September 28, many expected its digital release to happen this week.
It's noteworthy that Skanda was originally scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 20. However, the producers wasted no time in advancing the release date by almost a month after the postponement of Salaar, starring Telugu superstar Prabhas.

Skanda was released amid a lot of anticipation. However, it failed to capitalise on the pre-release hype owing to poor reviews and bad word-of-mouth. "Skanda is a film that’ll even make Boyapati’s previous dud - Vinaya Vidheya Rama - seem infinitely better," read OTTplay's review of Skanda.
After an encouraging start, Skanda crashed at the box office. According to reports, the movie only managed to earn about Rs 57 crore on a budget of Rs 90 crore.
Skanda also stars Sreeleela, Saiee Manjrekar and Prince Cecil in key roles.
