The film titled Tulasi Theerdham will be directed by Ramgopal Varma and produced by Tummalapalli Rama Satyanarayana
Tulasi Dalam, the bestseller fiction novel written by Yandamoori Veerendranath, is a work that Telugu literature aficianados hold close to their heart, It doesn't need to be said that the novel has earned a cult following over the years. The star novelist, screenwriter is back in action with a conceptual sequel to Tulasi dalam that has been titled Tulasi Theerdham . The story, for a change, won't take the print form and will instead be made into a film directly. Ram Gopal Varma has been roped in to direct the sequel that's set to go on floors soon. The film was formally announced today.
Tulasi Theerdham will be among the rarest of Ram Gopal Varma films where the story has been penned by another writer. The director, who's currently working on Ladki and Konda, will commence work on this project shortly. Tummalapalli Rama Satyanarayana is set to produce the film under Bheemavaram Talkies. The film, labelled a horror thriller, is expected to be high on VFX and CG work. More details about the film's cast and crew will be announced soon, the makers confirmed in a note.
Meanwhile, conveying his excitement about the project RGV wrote in a series of tweets, "My next horror film is Tulasi Theerdham, a conceptual sequel to the sensationally shocking novel Tulasi Dalam by Yandamuri Veerendranath. It is produced by Bheemavaram Talkies. Yandamuri Veerendranath’s novel Tulasi Dalam has been one of the most influential novels I ever read, and now I am very excited to make its sequel Tulasi Theerdham. It is produced by Rama Satyanarayana of Bheemavaram Talkies."
Yandamoori Veerendranath is also returning to direction with a couple of films, Nallanchu Tellacheera and Athadu Aame Priyudu. Nallanchu Tellacheera has already completed shoot while Athadu Aame Priyudu stars Kaushal Manda, Sunil, Banerjee, Maheshwari Vaddi, Priyanka and Supoorna in pivotal roles.
