A.R. Rahman is one of the top musicians in the country and is also a deeply religious man. Not many know that he is an avid visitor to the Kadapa Dargah in Andhra Pradesh. He has been spotted at the shrine for years and even visited it after winning an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire.
Today, November 18, he is set to perform at the Kadapa Dargah once again on the occasion of the 80th Mushaira Ghazal event. Adding to the excitement, none other than Ram Charan will grace the event as the chief guest. Interestingly, A.R. Rahman is currently scoring the music for Ram Charan's upcoming film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana.
Reflecting on their connection, A.R. Rahman had a conversation with Ram Charan some time ago and personally invited the RRR star to this Ghazal event at Kadapa which is in its 80th year. A source close to Ram Charan revealed that, despite being amid his Sabarimala Deeksha, the actor has decided to visit the Dargah, a rare occurrence.
This event is particularly special as it also brings attention to Ram Charan’s new film, Game Changer, generating buzz in film circles. Recently, the teaser for the film was unveiled in Lucknow and received widespread acclaim. Directed by Shankar, the film has been in the making for the past three years and is finally set to release on January 10, 2024.
In Game Changer, Ram Charan will be seen in a double role, and the film has been produced by Dil Raju. The film also features Kiara Advani.
Meanwhile, A.R. Rahman has already composed four songs for Ram Charan's next movie, and once filming resumes, one of the songs will be shot first. Reportedly, it will star Janhvi Kapoor.
