Ankush is known to be an ace dancer. He has recently impressed all his fans with the dance number, Gobindo Dant Maje Na, for Raktabeej. That was the brainchild of Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee – the director duo of the film. During the shooting, Ankush had a serious injury in his leg. But that could not deter him.

Ankush is known as a jolly and witty person. But he is serious in his work. So much so that he completed the shooting despite injury. It happened during the rehearsal in the early morning of the shooting. But he continued till 4 am. Shiboprosad and Nandita frequently asked him whether he could go on. They also suggested shooting the sequence some other day. But Ankush did not step back.

In an interview with Sangbad Pratidin Digital, the actor joked, “I heard that people broke their waist while dancing to Surajitda’s (Chattopadhyay, composer) Rangabati song. But this time, the stage was about to break down before my dance.” He also added, “Surajitda made a song which made it impossible for us to sit. In fact, even the injured leg wanted to dance.”

A fairground was made in Bantala, where the shooting of the dance number was shot. The shooting went on till 4 am. Ankush had a flight at 9 am on that day. He shot from 9 pm till 4 am, but was not a bit tired. He sat in front of the monitor, took advice from the directors, gave the shots, and then left for the airport.

Shiboprosad said, “Nanditadi and I were surprised to see Ankush’s dedication to work. He never expressed a bit of his agony. He had to be given an ice pack after each shot. That day, Ankush taught everyone about how much love a person can have for their work so that they can shoot like this.”
