Rakshit Shetty’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello is beginning its journey across borders this Friday. Released in theatres across the country in its original Kannada version on September 1, the film by Hemanth M Rao caught the fancy of discerning audiences, whose appreciation for the film did not go unnoticed. Even though the film had only a limited release in the Kannada version outside of Karnataka, in some places, like Hyderabad, for instance, the shows ran to packed houses, which was all that the makers needed to decide on releasing a dubbed version in that market.

Rakshit, who produced the film under his banner Paramvah Studios, has partnered with People Media Factory to release the Telugu version of the film, called Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati Side A, on September 22. During the media promotions of the Telugu version, Rakshit reiterated that this was a film that he wanted to allow to travel organically. Considering that his earlier film 777 Charlie did reasonably well in its Telugu version, Rakshit wanted Sapta Sagaradaache Ello to begin its journey in that market, with its next destination being Kerala.

Earlier today, Rakshit announced that the Malayalam version of the film will be in theatres less than a week after the Telugu one. Sapta Sagaradaache Ello’s Malayalam version will release on September 28 in Kerala, which was a date earlier reserved for Salaar, but is now swamped with a lot of other titles. In Kerala, Rakshit’s film will have to take on the Malayalam film Chaver, the Tamil titles Chandramukhi 2 and Iraivan, the Hindi films The Vaccine War and Fukrey 3 and maybe even the Telugu films Skanda and Rules Ranjann. The film also comes only a week after Raj B Shetty’s Toby tests waters in the Kerala market, setting up the same box-office clash that the Kannada original versions had.

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A is the story of Manu (Rakshit) and Priya (Rukmini Vasanth), a much-in-love middle class couple, whose relationship is tested when he takes a risk in the hope of changing their fortunes around, which, unfortunately for him, backfires and how. Side A explores if their love can weather this storm, while Side B, which releases in its Kannada version on October 20 , picks up 10 years after the events of the first film. The film also stars Achyuth Kumar, Pavitra Lokesh, Yamuna Srinidhi, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Sharath Lohithashwa, among others.
