Rakshit Shetty’s film line-up exciting, but needs to pick up the pace, say fans
Earlier this week, Kannada actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty took to social media to dispel all the rumours that have been doing the rounds with regards to his casting in Thalapathy Vijay’s next. Without referring to the upcoming Tamil film, Rakshit listed his upcoming slate of films, all of which are his own directorials and urged his followers not to believe any other rumour. While that effectively put an end to all the speculation about his big Kollywood role, the line-up that Rakshit mentioned had his fans jumping in joy.
For starters, Rakshit will next be seen in Hemanth Rao’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, after which he begins work on his first directorial in just over 8 years, Richard Anthony. Thereafter, Rakshit claims that there will be a slew of directorials, including a two-part Punyakoti and Midway to Moksha. Exciting as this news is, his fans are not sure when to expect any of these films, given Rakshit’s slow pace of work. The actor-filmmaker, who made his debut in 2010 with Nam Areal Ond Dina, has 10 releases to his credit as leading man and a bunch of cameos, with many of these coming at intervals of three years each. The fact that it has taken Rakshit almost a decade to revisit his Ulidavaru Kandanthe character for Richard Anthony, is worrisome, they reckon.
“Shettre superb lineup 👌 aanda problem dada panda eer movie malpyara masth time dethonpar! For eg SSE kind of movie it should have completed by now and RA is yet to start after its announcement long back. It's our request to complete movies little earlier,” wrote Vikas in response to Rakshit’s announcement. Netizen Darshan added, “This is rakshit anna next 10- 12 year plan .. Look how simple he has announced without checking his fans patience.” Sachin wrote, “Bahaḷa khuṣi aytu, adare bega bega shooṭing mugisi release maḍri Seṭrē...!? Kāyakkāgalla...?😔🤦”
