Rakshit Shetty to announce collaboration with new-age Kannada cinema at 4 pm today

The actor teased that the film he has tied up with is a masterpiece in filmmaking. What could it be?

Whenever a big name from Kannada cinema has backed the making or promotion of a new-age film, it has been quite the game-changer, whether it is Pawan Kumar for Raj B Shetty’s Ondu Motteya Kathe or Rishab Shetty for the upcoming Pedro. Joining this list is Rakshit Shetty, whose banner Paramvah Studios has an announcement due this evening.

Unable to control his excitement about this, Rakshit took to social media a while ago to write, “Lucia, Rama Rama Re, Rangitaranga, Ondu Motteya Kathe, Kavaludaari, Dia…a few films which excited me so much that I wanted to shout out to the world that new-age Kannada cinema is here. The announcement that is slated for today is a collaboration with one such film, which I watched during the recent lockdown. A film that is truly a masterpiece. A film which pulled me into its depths and soaked me in its world; by the time I realised how much it had affected me, two days had passed. After the announcement, this film will be mine, and probably, it won’t be right to post this later. But you will get to witness some of the finest performances and beautiful story-telling that has been packed in an epic. I trust you all will cherish it for a long, long time. Announcement at 4.05 PM today.”

Rakshit’s post, of course, got fans speculating about the film that is likely to be presented by him. From Dhananjaya’s Ratnan Prapancha to Raj B Shetty’s Garuda Gamana Vrushabha Vahana, to Physics Teacher, Man Of The Match, and Hostel Hudugaru Bekagide, there were many names that came up in response to the post. Some also suggested that it could be a collaboration with Dia maker KS Ashok. What could it be? Well, we will have to wait a few hours to know for sure what Rakshit’s got up his sleeve. Stay tuned.
