Rakshit explains that the RRR coming together will depend on the actors' willingness to be a part of a 'small' film
The triumvirate of Kannada cinema – Rakshit Shetty, Rishab Shetty and Raj B Shetty – are good pals, who discuss work and collaborate with each other too. While Rishab has directed Rakshit twice, Raj has written for and acted in Rakshit’s 777 Charlie, and choreographed a prime sequence in Rishab’s blockbuster Kantara. Raj had also written bits of Rishab’s Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale. While they are all aware of what the other is doing on the professional front, all three of them are yet to work on one film – something that fans are very keen to see.
Raj B Shetty: The ‘RRR’ of Kannada cinema coming together depends on Rakshit Shetty
In fact, Rakshit has written a script for a film called Midway to Moksha, which has roles for him, Rishab, Raj and their pal Pramod Shetty as well. A smaller film compared to Rakshit’s upcoming Richard Anthony and Punyakoti, Midway to Moksha is a project he wants to do at some point and has been listing it as part of his upcoming filmography. Speaking to the media in Kochi during the promotions of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, Rakshit said that Raj would definitely want to do the role that’s been written for him, as will Pramod. But whether Rishab will still do it in the post-Kantara era, is to be seen, he said. In fact, Rishab was supposed to be a part of a Rakshit production called Bachelor Party, a commitment he took up prior to Kantara, but then excused himself once his film became a big hit and he began work on the script for Kantara 2.
While the hope of seeing Kannada cinema’s RRR together onscreen hinges on Midway to Moksha, the only script that has roles for all of them, it now seems that one of them or all of them together will have to work on a script that is to be mounted on a much bigger scale. The hope is that Rishab will finish up Kantara 2 and do Midway to Moksha after all.
