Rakshasudu 2 comes with the tagline ‘Hold your breath’, and the makers are yet to reveal the complete list of cast and crew,
As the Telugu hit film Rakshasudu completes two years, its producer Koneru Satyanarayana revealed that a sequel to it, Rakshasudu 2, will be made with a budget of Rs 100 crore. The makers had recently announced that the sequel of the psycho thriller which was released in 2019 will have director Ramesh Varma at the helm.
The producer reportedly said, “Rakshasudu 2 will be on par with Hollywood films. It will be a pan-Indian film and will have a big star playing the lead role. We have allocated a budget of 100 crore for the project and it will be entirely shot in London.” He also added that the movie will have more commercial elements than the first part and that the makers are planning to make it more racy and gripping.
Rakshasudu, which starred Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Anupama Parameshwaran, directed by Ramesh Varma, was the Telugu remake of blockbuster Tamil film Ratsasan. The film managed to live up to the expectations of movie buffs in the Telugu states, too.
The edge-of-the-seat thriller, which revolved around a cat-and-mouse game between a cop and a serial killer, starred Saravanan, Abhirami, Rajeev Kanakala, Vinodhini, Suzane George and Kavi Prakash in the Telugu version.
The makers had unveiled the poster of the sequel on July 13. Rakshasudu 2 comes with the tagline ‘Hold your breath’, and the makers are yet to reveal the complete list of cast and crew.
Though producer Koneru Satyanarayana was about to remake Rakshasudu in Hindi, he dropped the idea after the second wave of pandemic hit the country. Sharing about it, he said, “Akshay Kumar had approached us for the rights and we readily gave it away as we felt he would be perfect for the role.” According to him, Ramesh Varma will be making his Bollywood debut with the project.
