Rakshana OTT release date: When, where to stream the Payal Rajput's cop drama

Rakshana is Payal Rajput's latest Telugu film, which the actress avoided completely during the promotions as she was not paid her full fee. Prandeep Thakore directed the cop drama.

Payal Rajput made a sensational start to her career with the film RX100, which also starred Karthikeya Gummakonda. After the release of that film, Payal acted in many films but most of them ended up being flops. So, she teamed up with the director of RX100, Ajay Bhupathi, for a suspense thriller, Mangalavaaram, in an attempt to revive her career.

The film did fairly well at the box office. After the release of Mangalavaaram, Payal played a serious cop in the film Rakshana. Until a few days after its release, not many knew such a film was being released in the first place. Payal stayed away from the film and did not even promote Rakshana, and she was not paid her full remuneration.

This upset the producers, who also approached the Producers Council in Hyderabad and complained about her. But still, Payal did not pay heed and avoided the film. Finally, Rakshana hit screens on June 7, 2024, along with Navdeep's Love Mouli and Kajal Aggarwal's Satyabhama.

Sadly, the cop drama was a flop, and it is now finally ready for its OTT release. We have come to know that Aha has grabbed the rights to this film and will make it available for streaming starting August 1, 2024. Prandeep Thakore directed this film, which has music by Mahati Swara Sagar.

Shivannarayana, Maanas, Rajeev Kanakala, Vinod Bala, and Anand Chakrapani played key roles in this film. Payal's performance was appreciated in this film, but as the narration was bad, Rakshana tanked at the box office.
