Rajinikanth, the veteran superstar, is now busy with the shooting of his 170th outing in cinema, Vettaiyan. The highly anticipated project, which is helmed by TJ Gnanavel, has garnered the attention of film fans right from the time of its release with its exceptional star cast. As reported earlier, Rajinikanth is set to reunite with the legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan for the film after a long gap of over three decades. The recent location pictures of the iconic duo are now taking social media by storm.

For the uninitiated, the new schedule of Vettaiyan recently started rolling in Mumbai. Rajinikanth, who plays the titular character in the movie, and Amitabh Bachchan, who is making a cameo appearance, are reportedly shooting their combination scenes at the special sets created in a famous Mumbai film studio. Lyca Productions, the production banner that bankrolls the TJ Gnanavel directorial, recently took to their official social media handles and dropped some lovely pictures of the iconic duo.

“The Titans of Indian Cinema! Superstar @rajinikanth and Shahenshah @SrBachchan grace the sets of Vettaiyan in Mumbai, with their unmatched charisma,” reads the Twitter post of the prestigious production banner, which is now going viral on social media.
In the pictures, the Jailer star and the Kalki 2898 AD actor who looked dapper in formal outfits, are seen sharing some warm moments amidst the shot break. It is now safe to assume that Vettaiyan is going to be a complete treat for the fans of both superstars, who have been eagerly waiting for their onscreen reunion.

Vettaiyan to hit theatres in October
Initially, director TJ Gnanavel and his team were planning to release the highly anticipated Rajinikanth starrer in April 2024. However, the release of the movie was delayed further due to technical reasons. As per the recent updates, it has been confirmed that Vettaiyan will get a grand worldwide release in October 2024.
However, the makers of the mass action thriller have yet to lock in the release date of the film. Along with Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, the highly anticipated project features a stellar star cast including Fahadh Faasil Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and others.
