Biopics have been receiving a lot of love across the country lately and Rajkumar Rao will play visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla in a biopic produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani.

Rao will bring Srikanth Bolla’s life to the big screen and tell the story of how the industrialist did not let his impairment blind his vision and growth and how he founded Bolland Industries spearheaded by Rav Kanth Mantha.

The biopic is written by Sumit Purohit and Jagdeep Sidhu and is tentatively titled Srikanth Bolla. The movie, which is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, will commence filming in July 2022.

Hailing from rural Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth Bolla was born blind and faced many hardships in life growing up. He had to fight a legal battle with the state after class 10 to opt science stream and also became the first international blind student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.

"Srikanth Bolla is an inspiration! It's indeed a privilege to play such an inspiring persona who has been through a lot of hardships and despite that has risen like a phoenix!” said Rajkumar Rao, talking about his character.

Rao also added that he is looking forward to playing the role and that he is happy to collaborate with producer Bhushan Kumar in the movie about the differently abled industrialist.

Rao was last seen in the comedy drama Hum Do Hamare Do directed by Abhishek Jain, which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar and is currently available to stream on the platform.
