Rajkummar Rao to star in a dark comedy film?

Rajkummar Rao delivered one of the most successful films of the year - Stree 2. The actor reprised his role of Vicky in Amar Kaushik's horror comedy film. He reunited with Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, and others for the project. After the massive success of Stree 2, Rajkummar has reportedly teamed up with Sector 36 director Aditya Nimbalkar for a movie. The untitled project is apparently a dark comedy.

Rajkummar Rao to star in a dark comedy film?

According to a Pinkvilla report, Rajkummar Rao will act in this film and also produce it. The Bollywood actor reportedly decided to back the project as he loved its subject. "It’s a dark comedy set against the backdrop of a murder. Rajkummar Rao loved the subject to the extent that he decided to produce his himself. The actor took on the responsibilities of a producer, and then partnered with Netflix on a direct-to-digital deal," a source told the entertainment portal.

The report further mentions that Rajkummar will begin shooting for Aditya Nimbalkar's movie in January 2025. The movie is reportedly a Netflix original and will stream on the platform by the end of next year. "Everyone has loved the subject and are bullish on the prospects of the film on digital medium. It’s a new flavour to the genre of murder, and the screenplay is packaged with twists and turns," the source added.

Besides this project, Rajkummar has reportedly signed another project. The details of the same are awaited.

Rajkummar Rao's films in 2024

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao had a couple of movie releases this year. The actor played the lead role in Srikanth. It was followed by the release of Mr and Mrs Mahi, in which he worked with Janhvi Kapoor. Later, his horror comedy film Stree 2 with Shraddha was released on the big screen. His last theatrical release was Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
