Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon starrer Hum Do Humare Do to get OTT release?

The upcoming film also features Paresh Rawal and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles.

Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon are returning to OTT with their upcoming film. Yes, as per the latest reports, the actors' second film together titled Hum Do Humare Do is skipping theatrical release and making its way to the streaming platform. The film directed by Gujarati filmmaker Abhishek Jain also features Paresh Rawal and Ratna Pathak Shah in the lead roles. As per a report in PeepingMoon, the film is slated to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.

A source told the entertainment portal that audiences are not yet ready to visit cinemas and films that have been released in theatres such as Bell Bottom, Chehre and Thalaivii could not even recover their costs.

The source further said, "All this has left the producers with no option but to release their ready films on digital platforms. Thus, producer Dinesh Vijan is just following the suit because he can't keep on waiting any longer."

Rajkummar's two films were directly released on OTT in 2020 - Ludo on Netflix and Chhalang on Amazon Prime Video. Whereas, Kriti's OTT debut was Mimi which dropped on JioCinema and Netflix earlier this year.

Earlier during an interaction with Pinkvilla, Dinesh had hinted that Hum Do Humare Do will be a theatrical release towards the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Rajkummar also has another OTT release on Netflix titled Monica, O My Darling directed by Vasan Bala. The film features Radhika Apte and Huma Quresh as the female leads. He also has Badhaai Do opposite Bhumi Pednekar of which the filming has been wrapped up.

On the other hand, Kriti's upcoming film is Farhad Samji's Bachchan Pandey in which Akshay Kumar plays the titular role. The film also features Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez.

She will also be seen in Bhediya opposite Varun Dhawan in which he features as a werewolf. Kriti has also donned the role of Sita in Om Raut's Adipurush wherein Prabhas features in the titular role.
