The release date of Rajkummar Rao and Jyotika's SRI has been announced. The film, which is a biopic on Srikant Bolla, a visually impaired industrialist and the co-founder of Bollant Industries, is all set to hit screens on September 15. Taking to her social media handle, Rajkummar Rao wrote, "The inspiring story of Srikanth Bolla #SRI all set to release 15th September 2023 (sic)." He also dropped a glimpse of the film, which begins with the line, "I am blind, yes, but I can surely see and that is my dream. And I dream really big (sic)."
Jyotika, who is making a comeback in Bollywood with the film, wrote that she was happy to be part of a story that inspired many. She wrote, "Happy to be a part of a story that inspired many. #SRI, the inspirational story of the idealist Srikanth Bolla will be on the big screen on 15th September 2023 (sic)." The last time Jyotika appeared in a Hindi film was her debut Doli Sajake Rakhna (1998), which was a remake of Kadhalukku Mariyadhai and was directed by Priyadarshan. The film also stars Alaya F and Shard Kelkar and is helmed by Tushar Hiranandani.
Earlier Jyotika had stated that she had learnt a lot from the film. Dropping a picture with the team, Jyotika had written, " Wrapped up my portions for “SRI”with a heavy heart .One of the best crews I have ever worked with …Thank u Tushaar n Nidhi for all the respect and making me part of this meaningful cinema.Huge fan of yours Raj. It’s an honour for me to share screen space with one of the most brilliant actors in Bollywood… learnt so much from you.What I’m taking back from this team as an actor is….. GROWTH (sic)."
The film is written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit and pictured by Pratham Mehta. SRI is bankrolled by T Series Films and Chalk and Cheese Films Production.
