HIT: The First Case is the Hindi remake of the popular Telugu movie of the same name released in 2020.
Rajkumar Rao, who never fails to amaze in his movies, is now all set to try and do it again with the upcoming thriller, HIT: The First Case. The talented actor, who will be playing the lead in the remake, has now opened up and stated that he was never fond of remakes, until he came across HIT.
"I was never fond of remakes but had to do HIT because I was so involved with the story, it was so engaging. A very well made thriller. We make thrillers in our country but very few are really good ones,” Rajkumar said in an interview with Mid Day.
The actor added that the movie was one that he enjoyed as he is a film lover who watches a lot of content, which also pushed him into thinking that he had to do the movie. The actor then talked about how he approached director Sailesh, who made the original, to make the Hindi remake as well.
He further pointed out that since Sailesh had already done it once, he could incorporate whatever he could not in the Telugu original and could also avoid the mistake he made in it.
HIT: The First Case, directed by debutant Sailesh Kolanu, was released in Telugu back in 2020 starring Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in the lead. The movie went on to become a winner, receiving great reviews from the fans. The makers are also working on a sequel to the Telugu movie.
The Hindi remake also stars Sanya Malhotra in the lead, and follows a cop with PTSD as he has to deal with a case that is all too personal to him. The movie, which is backed by T-Series Films and Dil Raju Production, is set to hit theatres on July 15.
