Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam is out of Pongal 2024 race; here’s what we know
Lal Salaam, the sports drama that stars Rajinikanth in a special appearance, is not getting a Pongal 2024 release as expected. The release of the Aishwarya Rajinikanth directorial has been postponed.

The upcoming project Lal Salaam, marks director Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s comeback to filmmaking, after quite a long gap. The movie, which is touted to be a sports action drama, marks Aishwarya’s first professional collaboration with her legendary father, Rajinikanth. The movie, which features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles, has the superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo appearance.
Earlier, it was reported that Lal Salaam is gearing up for a grand theatrical release during Pongal of 2024. However, the latest updates suggest that the release of the Rajinikanth-starrer has been postponed.
Lal Salaam not getting a Pongal 2024 release
As per the latest updates, Lal Salaam is now officially out of the race for Pongal 2024 release. The makers have reportedly decided to postpone the release as post-production works of the film are taking more time than expected. In that case, the sports action drama, that features Rajinikanth in a pivotal role, might get a new release date very soon. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that Lal Salaam might be released on January 26, 2024, on the occasion of Republic Day. However, the makers have not confirmed the date officially, yet.

Lal Salaam audio launch gets a new date and venue
As reported earlier, Lal Salaam audio launch was originally expected to be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on December 21, 2023. However, the makers decided to postpone the grand event due to undisclosed reasons. If the latest updates are to be believed, the audio launch event is now slated to be held on January 4, 2024, at the Sairam Engineering College in Chennai. A major update on the same is expected to be out very soon.

About Lal Salaam
Rajinikanth is playing the role of Moideen Bhai in the movie, which reatures Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal as the protagonists. Celebrated cricketer Kapil Dev, Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Nirosha, Vivek Prasanna, Dhanya Balakrishna, and others will be seen in supporting roles. AR Rahman has composed songs and the original score. Lal Salaam is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
