Rajinikanth's blockbuster hit Jailer achieves THIS unique milestone at the Malaysian box office

Rajinikanth in Jailer

It's been 10 days since Jailer has been released, and it is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. The movie has surpassed Vikram's collection in Tamil Nadu and is on the way to becoming the highest-grossing movie in the state.

The Rajinikanth-starrer is already the biggest-ever Tamil grosser in Kerala. The Nelson directorial is the second biggest Tamil film in Karnataka and Telugu states. The Superstar's 2.0 is the only project ahead of Jailer in these two industries. Interestingly, the film is currently the highest-grossing movie in Karnataka this year, outsmarting Darshan's Kranti.

Unsurprisingly, the movie is doing phenomenal business in the USA, UK, and GCC countries. Film buffs were curious to know about its performance in Malaysia, where Tamil movies put up massive numbers. We hear that Jailer has emerged as the highest Tamil grosser in the country.

It has amassed more than 13 million MYR, and is set to cross Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale to become the numero uno Indian movie there. All eyes are now on its possibility to beat Ponniyin Selvan 1's collections worldwide. Going by the current trend, it is likely to happen and will settle down as the second biggest Kollywood movie after 2.0.

The Shankar directorial, which set a huge record in Chennai, Chengalpet territory, was aided by box office numbers from the Bollywood market. Jailer seems to be collecting around 600 crores without setting the cash registers ringing in the Hindi markets.
