Superstar Rajinikanth completed dubbing for his character in the upcoming movie Lal Salaam. Written and directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Rajinikanth is playing a key extended cameo in it.
Rajinikanth essays the role of an aged Muslim leader named Moideen Bhai. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, Lal Salaam seems like a high-voltage political drama. Lyca Production, which has bankrolled the movie, shared a glimpse of Rajinikanth's dubbing session. And the promo revealed a powerful line in the movie, which is packed with relevant messages. The dialogues emphasise the importance of rising above religious and political differences and uniting under the umbrella of humanity.

"Hold humanity over your religious beliefs," Rajinikanth tells in the promo and wins the approval of his daughter without any trouble.
Lal Salaam is a political drama
Rajinikanth shot for his portions earlier this year and completed his portions in July. His portions were entirely shot against the backdrop of Mumbai. The movie seems to have a politically charged plot. According to reports, director Abhishek Kapoor's 2013 hit film, Kai Po Che, inspired Aishwarya to make this movie.
The first-look posters that were released earlier suggest thematic similarities with Kai Po Che. The sport of cricket seems to have be key part in the narrative which seems to play out against the turmoil of riot-stricken Mumbai. It's worth noting that legendary cricketer Kapil Dev also filmed a cameo role for the movie, adding to the growing expectations.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth's comeback
Aishwarya is making her comeback as a director with Lal Salaam after an eight-year hiatus. Her last directorial venture was the Tamil action-thriller Vai Raja Vai, which came out in 2015. Besides Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in lead roles and. Oscar-winner AR Rahman is composing the music for the movie.
