Rajinikanth and Arunraja Kamaraj have previously worked together, with the latter singing Neruppuda from the actor’s movie, Kabali.
There is a big development coming from the Tamil film industry, this time involving Superstar Rajinikanth. The film will reportedly be helmed by Arunraja Kamaraj.
A Times of India report suggests that Rajinikanth has given his approval to Arunraja Kamaraj, and the two will work together for the star’s 170th film.
According to a source quoted by the oirlet, Arunraja, who is currently working on Nenjukku Needhi has wanted to narrate a story to the superstar. He got his chance through Boney Kapoor and Raahul, who are the producers of the current project.
After the narration on Friday (February 18), Rajinikanth agreed to star in the movie, which has been scripted specifically for him. The source adds that Kapoor and Raahul will bankroll the project.
Arunraja is currently working on Nenjukku Needhi starring Udhayanidhi Stalin. It is a remake of the 2019 Hindi film Article 15 directed by Anubhav Sinha with Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead.
Arunraja has previously worked with Rajinikanth in the 2016 hit action drama Kabali. He wrote and sung the chartbuster song from the movie, Neruppuda which featured Rajinikanth in a stylish action avatar. Arunraja was also part of Kaala and Darbar as a lyricist.
Rajinikanth on the other hand, was last seen in the family action drama Annaatthe directed by Siva.
Last week, it was officially announced that the actor will work with Nelson next, who has directed Doctor and is currently working on Beast with Vijay and Pooja Hegde in the lead.
