The film also stars Tanya Ravichandran, Tanikella Bharani, Sudhakar Komakula and is directed by Sri Saripalli,
RX 100 actor Karthikeya, who hasn't scored a hit at the box office after his debut, is nevertheless trying his hand at different genres and roles film after film, be it Gang Leader, 90 ml or Chaavu Kaburu Challaga. The actor, who got hitched to his college sweetheart Lohitha Reddy recently, is turning over a new leaf professionally with his next release, Raja Vikramarka, where he plays a funny yet committed agent. First-time director Sri Saripalli helms this action comedy that features Tanya Ravichandran, Tanikella Bharani, Sudhakar Komakula in important roles. The film's teaser was launched on Saturday.
The teaser is quirky, funny and is a feast for action junkies with slick action sequences. Set to Kishore Kumar's classic number Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si, the teaser starts with an interesting sequence featuring Karthikeya and his superior, played by Tanikella Bharani, sipping a cup of coffee in a room, where the former accidentally shoots a bullet from his gun and apologises immediately. The scene later shifts to Karthikeya's adventures on the field, where he appears in disguise as a Muslim, climbs buildings using a rope and joins hands with a cop (Sudhakar Komakula) for a mission.
Raja Vikramarka's teaser ends on a high note, with Karthikeya saying, "I was inspired by actor Krishna in my childhood and Tom Cruise later to become an agent but looks like I'll meet my end soon." Action comedies are a rarety in Telugu cinema and the teaser suggests that the filmmaker has interesting story to tell his audiences. The film, produced by 88 Rama Reddy, has a superb supporting lineup in the form of Sai Kumar, Pasupathy, Harsha Vardhan, Surya, Gemini Suresh and Jabardhasth Naveen. The technical team comprises cinematographer PC Mouli, composer Prashanth R Vihari and editor Jesvin Prabu. The makers are aiming for a release later this year.
