The film directed by Sri Saripalli stars Kartikeya Gummakonda, Tanya Ravindran, Pasupathy, Sudhakar Komakula, Sai Kumar, Harshavardhan and Tanikella Bharani in key roles
RX100 actor Kartikeya Gummakonda got a stylish makeover with his role as an NIA officer in his last release Raja Vikramarka. Directed by Sri Saripalli, the film was a rare spy action comedy in Telugu cinema, which had Tanya Ravindran cast as the female lead. Raja Vikramarka brought together a fantastic supporting cast comprising names like Pasupathy, Sudhakar Komakula, Sai Kumar, Harshavardhan and Tanikella Bharani. The film that hit theatres on November 12, 2021 is currently streaming on Sun NXT.
The story revolves around Vikram (Kartikeya Gummakonda), a new recruit in the NIA, deputed to safeguard the Home Minister Chakravarthy (Sai Kumar) from a security threat. He claims to be an insurance agent to gain access to the household. Vikram soon falls in love the bureaucrat's daughter Kanthi (Tanya Ravichandran), a dancer. A former naxal Guru Narayana (Pasupathy) attempts to kill Chakravarthy at a public event, after which Vikram and his team need to unravel his plans at any cost and avoid further damage.
This is the first film for Sudhakar Komakula in a negative role and he certainly packs a punch within the limitations of the story. Budding composer Prashanth R Vihari has scored the music for Raja Vikramarka. PC Mouli has cranked the camera while Adi Reddy T is the presenter. Jesvin Babu has handled the edits. Ramajogayya Sastry and Krishna Kanth are the lyricists for the album. Surya, Gemini Suresh, Jabardasth Naveen too essay crucial roles in the film that met with a moderate response at the box office.
Raja Vikramarka is produced by 88 Rama Reddy. The director Sri Saripalli had worked as an assistant to filmmaker VV Vinayak in the past.
