The film stars Pratap Pothen, Ali Reza, Aravind Krishna and Urvashi Rai in lead roles
Raj Madiraju, who has evolved as a popular character actor in the recent years, is making a comeback as a director with a spy thriller titled Grey (The Spy Who Loved Me). He'll also be seen in a brief role in the film that features Prathap Pothan, Ali Reza, Aravind Krishna, Urvashi Rai, Shani Solomon and Siddharth in key roles. Producer Kiran Kallakuri is foraying into films with this project that will be bankrolled under Adwitiya Movies. Director VN Aditya, Ramesh Prasad, dialogue writer Lakshmi Bhupal, Vivek Kuchibhotla had graced the film's launch event held recently.
"I've never been more excited to bring a script alive onto the screen in my career. I am confident about the script and the way I have visualised it. This is a story that has characters with immense depth. I don't find anything negative about grey. Relationships, revolutions and every little aspect of our lives have shades of grey. I've tried to elaborate it in the film. We've very meticulous with the casting. The principal shoot will commence from October 22. We plan to wrap up the filming by December and are aiming for a Sankranti release," Raj Madiraju said.
The producer Kiran said that the film's director Raj Madiraju and executive producer Chadalawada Uma Maheshwar Rao have extensively worked on its pre-production. "Investing big money in a film is easy but it's not so easy to make a good film. I am sure that Grey will turn out well. There have been very few thrillers in Telugu cinema and our film should be able to provide a refreshing viewing experience for audiences," he added. The actors Aravind Krishna, Urvashi, Nazia expressed their gratitude to the director and asserted that Grey will be a one-of-a-kind film.
MR Chetan Kumar is cranking the camera for Grey, while Rajeev Nair is on-board as the art director. Composer Nagaraju Talluri will be scoring music for the film, with Satya Giduturi handling the editing. Some of the other films that Raj Madiraju directed in the past were Uncle, Rushi, Andhra Pori and Aithe 2.0. He was also a former associate of late filmmaking legend Dasari Narayana Rao.
