The ‘Single for Singles’ by lyricist Nagarjun Sharma, was released last evening.
Raj B Shetty showed the world that he can bust a few mean moves, when he broke into a spirited tiger dance in his most recent directorial, Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. He’s put on his dancing shoes yet again, only this time, it’s not to show off the ‘demon in him’ but the agile dancer.
Earlier this month, Paramvah Music had announced a new single called Alla Naveena, a break-up song featuring Raj along with newbies Atharvaa and Spoorthi Udimane, written and directed by lyricist Nagarjun Sharma. Last evening, the peppy number, composed by Anand Raja and sung by Tagaru fame Anthony Daasan, which has been described as a ‘Single for Singles’, was released and boy, is it fun. According to Nagarjun, the inspiration for the song is the fact that it is the year-end when most youngsters, or rather singles, to be precise, feel the impact of the lack of a special someone in their lives. The song, he was quoted as saying, is an exploration of modern-day love.
Shot at a resort in Bengaluru, the song has been choreographed by Muruga Master (famed for his work on the reality show Raja Rani) and has Raj and Atharvaa singing about love failure from a guy’s perspective. Raj is quite literally having a blast in the song, although Anthony Daasan’s vocals seem a misfit for him, especially if you have only recently heard the actor in Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. But that’s a minor issue for an otherwise fun single, from the man who wrote Hands Up from Avane Srimannarayana and the Salaga title track, among others. In the song, Raj is an advisor of sorts, as he presents his take on the concept of love.
