The actor-filmmaker has promised to share more details about the film, rumoured to be called Toby, shortly
The last time Ondu Motteya Kathe and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana maker and actor Raj B Shetty was on social media about something work related, he had written about the film, Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye, which he was making for actress Ramya’s newly-launched production house, AppleBox Studios. According to multiple reports, Raj had apparently finished the film, which he was playing the lead in as well along with Siri Ravikumar in less than 20 days and then cut himself off completely from social media and the outside world at large (his phone was switched off) and he remained incommunicado for a very long time.
Those following him on Instagram would see the occasional picture of the actor-filmmaker with his dogs, and nothing else. Raj, as it turns out, was working on his next directorial for his home banner Lighter Buddha Films – his third after OML and GGVV – and was in a different zone, where nothing but work mattered. He had finished this film too a while ago and has been busy with its pre-production. According to sources, the film is called Toby and stars Samyukta Hornad and Chaitra Achar among others, but Raj is yet to make an official announcement.
What he has done, as of last evening, is that he has confirmed that he has done a film after all and in his own words, it will be his best to date. Taking to social media, Raj wrote that he has made a film that will bring his best as a technician and an artiste to the fore and that he will share more details about the project shortly. “Rest assured, this is my best work to date,” he added.
The actor-filmmaker, we hear, will make character introduction announcements shortly, which will kickstart the promotions of the film. This time too, Raj has got Midhun Mukundan on board for the music.
