Raghu Thatha is directed by Suman Kumar and will release on August 15
Actor Keerthy Suresh is all set to headline the upcoming film titled Raghu Thatha. The film is set to hit big screens on August 15 for the occasion of Independence Day. Ahead of the film's release, the makers released the trailer of the film on social media on Wednesday.
The trailer of Raghu Thatha, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Keerthy Suresh in the lead role, has been unveiled by the makers on social media.

The trailer begins with showing the rebellious nature of the character played by Keerthy Suresh as she says she cannot be coy or ladylike, as we see various instances where she stands up against people around her. We are also shown that she is police cadet as she gives back to people who question about her marriage. Other characters of the film are also shown in the trailer, with Keerthy Suresh at the helm of something. We are not disclosed what the film's central conflict is, and at the same time, the film also appears to be about the anti-Hindi movement.
The film is backed by Hombale Films, the production banner behind the hit Kannada franchise KGF and Salaar. Raghu Thatha will mark their foray into Tamil cinema. The upcoming film is helmed by Suman Kumar in his maiden directorial venture. The filmmaker is known for his contribution in Hindi web series like Farzi and Guns & Gulaabs.
Besides Keerthy Suresh, Raghu Thatha features an ensemble star cast which includes known faces like MS Bhaskar, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshni, Jayakumar, Rajeev Ravindranathan, Anandsami, Rajesh Balachandran, Ismath Banu, Aadhira Pandilakshmi, Janaki, and Chu Khoy Sheng. KS Mippu, Mukesh, and Manoj Kumar Kalaivanan.

The film has been shot by cinematographer Yamini Yagnamurthy who also shot Keerthy's Saani Kaayidham. Raghu Thatha has music scored by Sean Roldan and TS Suresh has handled the editing.
Raghu Thatha will clash at the box office with Vikram and Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan and horror thriller Demonte Colony. Raghu Thatha has cleared censor formalities with U certificate.
