The film written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar hit theatres in five languages on March 25
The much-awaited pan-Indian film, Radhe Shyam, starring Prabhas, Pooja Hegde in pivotal roles, opened in theatres on March 11 across the globe in five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the period romance set in 1970s Italy was bankrolled by Vamsi, Pramod, Bhushan Kumar and Praseedha under UV Creations in collaboration with Gopi Krishna Movies and T-Series. Radhe Shyam, which is in its third week of its theatrical run, will release on OTT on Amazon Prime Video on April 1.
The story of Radhe Shyam revolves around Vikramaditya, a renowned palmist, whose family shifts from Varanasi to Rome. He believes love isn't in his destiny and prefers relationships that don't go beyond flirting. His idea of love changes when he meets a doctor Prerana. While Prerana resists Vikramaditya's advances initially, the two end up falling for one another. Though Vikramaditya is clear about his commitment issues, Prerana is a believer in timeless romance. Their relationship takes various twists and turns owing to factors beyond their control. In this tussle between destiny and love, what's in store for the couple?
Radhe Shyam opened to mixed reviews from critics but took a strong opening at the box office. Manoj Paramahamsa is the cinematographer of the film while Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor. Raveendar is the production designer for the same. Justin Prabhakaran is the composer for the South Indian version with S Thaman coming up with the background score. The supporting cast comprises Bhagyashree, Priyadarshi, Murli Sharma, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Jayaram, to name a few.
Prabhas, talking about the film's OTT premiere, added that Radhe Shyam is a story that's certain to strike a chord with everyone in the age of boundless cinema. "Radha Krishna Kumar, my co-star Pooja Hegde and the entire team behind Radhe Shyam have put our heart and soul into this film for the viewers. I can't be happier to know that the tale will reach audiences across the globe with its OTT premiere," he added.
