The film directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and produced by UV Creations, T Series is releasing in five languages on March 11
Baahubali star Prabhas will finally be seen in a feature film nearly after three years. The actor, who last acted in Saaho, stars in romance this time, Radhe Shyam, where he's paired opposite Pooja Hegde. Radhe Shyam is written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, also the filmmaker behind Gopichand's Jil. The epic romance, set in 1970s Europe, is made at a staggering budget of over Rs 300 crore.
Vamsi, Pramod and Bhushan Kumar have bankrolled the film under T Series. The film will be hitting theatres across the globe on March 11 in five languages - namely Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Justin Prabhakaran has composed the songs while S Thaman has come up with the background score.
What's the story of Radhe Shyam about?
The plot revolves around a globally renowned palmist Vikramaditya, who's based out of Rome and whose mother (played by Bhagyashree) is a Bharatanatyam dancer. The man doesn't believe in love or relationships and rather enjoys harmless flirting - which he calls 'flirtationship'. What if he falls in love? His love interest is Prerana, a doctor, whom he gradually falls for. Prerana doesn't give him much importance initially but the two are head over heels in love in a matter of time. What if destiny has something else in store? Vikramaditya and Prerana need to battle many odds to hold onto their relationship.
Why do you need to watch Radhe Shyam?
The lead cast, their chemistry: Prabhas and Pooja Hegde look like a couple made for each other on the screen and a lot of effort has been made to give their characters a distinct identity. While the Baahubali actor is grandeur personified, it's hard to be not smitten by her angelic charm. They share terrific on-chemistry, quite crucial for any love story and especially for a classic romance like Radhe Shyam, amidst a European backdrop of the 1970s
The technical crew: For a period romance being made on a grand canvas, equivalent to an international film, it's inevitable for a team to have a strong lineup. Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa is a name that needs no introduction and has been associated with films like Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Nanban, Sillu Karapatti and Kick 2 in the past. R Raveendar, the production designer, is one of the best in the business when it comes to art direction and his filmography comprising Magadheera, Eega, Aithe, Anukokunda Oka Roju, speaks for itself. Ace editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is also involved with the project. With the backbone of a film being so strong, one can be assured that Radhe Shyam is in safe hands.
The music: Many were taken by surprise when Justin Prabhakaran was roped in for Radhe Shyam over the bigger names in the music industry. Ee Raathale, Nagumomu Thaarale, Sanchari are such feel-good melodies that have set the tone for the film and created enough buzz prior to its release. The picturesque surreal locations are the icing on the cake. A few months prior to the release, S Thaman volunteered to compose the background score for the project and the makers claim he has elevated the impact of the film to a different level altogether.
The ensemble cast: Apart from the leads, the film brings together diverse performers from various industries, including Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Kunal Roy Kapur, Sathyan, Priyadarshi, Murli Sharma, Sasha Chettri, Krishnam Raju, Jagapathi Babu and Riddhi Kumar. Need we say more?
